How do I sign up for a 1-on-1 tutor?
Click on the "Tutees" tab. Then, click on the subject you need tutoring in and submit the Google Form.
What if I only need help once?
No problem! You can drop in at the library and receive help from an available tutor just for that day.
What if my tutor doesn't show up?
Please email us immediately for any problems with your tutor.
TUTORS
What is CSF?
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a statewide honor society that encourages "scholarship through service". CSF chapters throughout the state perform duties and service that better their community. We, in the Lowell chapter, provide services to our school and community primarily through our tutoring programs and teacher assistance.
How many mods am I required to do this semester?
You are required to do 45 total mods (450 minutes) this semester with 15 active tutoring mods. All mod requirements could be subject to change. (Spring '23)
Can I turn in my application after the deadline?
No, though extreme circumstances may warrant exceptions. These include lengthy school absences during the application period and grade changes that qualify a previously ineligible student. Excuses such as forgetting to apply, being unable to find your report card, or not paying attention to announcements are not acceptable.
What happens when my tutee does not show up?
Check in with you tutee through your preferred mode of communication. Be sure to follow up with your tutee to arrange another meeting time. If this is a recurring problem or if your availabilities no longer match up, please contact us immediately.
How do I get CSF life membership?
A student must be a member of CSF for at least four semesters. Two of these semesters must be during your senior year.
What do I get for being in CSF?
If you qualify for lifetime membership:
Inactive members, you receive CSF pins and diploma seals at graduation.
Active members, you get the satisfaction of having helped somebody! You also receive golden sashes, CSF pins and diploma seals at graduation.
What if I'm not on the CSF life membership list?
Email us immediately if there is a mistake. Remember, you must have been a CSF member for 4 semesters, two of which during your senior year. If you are vying for lifetime active membership, you must also have completed all of your mods for each semester of active membership.
